- I have a GVP 3001 with the IDE Autoboot ROM. I had read from several
- sources that the IDE controller has problems with many IDE drives and
- will not work with IDE drives having more than 1000 cylinders.
-
- When my original 80 Meg AT drive became too unreliable (stiction), I
- pulled both the drive and the ROM (U34) and now boot off my SCSI HD
- controller and drive.
-
- You may get the setup to work if you use a drive with fewer than 500
- Megabytes (more likely to have fewer than 1000 cylinders).

-
- I bought the board used back in 1990 and it has worked well for me most
- of the time. There was a problem a few years back (just after I moved
- teh computer downstairs) that necessitated pulling the daughterboard and
- SIMMs and cleaning the contacts.
-
- I have booted 1.3, 2.1, and 3.0.
